Round 2: Bustin' Clay Pigeons

Post  Maddox on 2010-05-06, 17:44

Yesterday we headed back out for our monthly debacle at the shooting range. This time we had a few more members who were willing to take life in their own hands and join us. As I think I mentioned in a previous post we had been waiting to try out 5 stand. 5 stand is mini sporting clay setup where there are 5 booths that a shooter rotates through. Surrounding these 5 stands are 11 throwers positioned in ways to simulate different shots you may see when out in the field. Number 2 is a rabbit, Number 3 is the incoming duck and so on. All in all this was a fantastic lunch time break of beautiful weather, trash talking and exceptional amount of shooting (notice I said shooting and not bustin' birds). We shot 2 rounds and I have to congratulate one of our site members BS who was able to beat the rest of us out in his first appearance. We are headed out again in 2 weeks where I plan for this not to be the outcome! I won't embarrass myself or the rest of the group by posting any scores yet but maybe I will start with our next round. All in all it was a great day and I recommend giving this type of shooting a try.
